TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Central Java predicted that the dry season is set to reach its peak in September to October, marked with an extreme weather. "It can reach up to 35 degrees of Celsius," said Reni Kraningtyas from the Agency.
The extreme hot weather in Central Java is predicted to hit its peak at exactly September 22, when the sun shines upon the southern hemisphere. Moreover, Reni said that El Nino amplifies the heat impact.
Reni later showed that a number of areas in Central Java are under massive drought. BMKG has reported that Purworejo, Kebumen, Sragen, Wonogiri Karanganyar, Boyolali, Grobogan and Rembang have not seen rain for over two months.
