TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Since the social media becomes an inseparable part of human life, no wonder why Japanese car manufacturer Mazda features a social media-friendly technology on their All-new Mazda2. The car is introduced in the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) held at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
The newly-launched car is equipped with MZD Connect technology that connects driver to his/her social media while on the road. The technology also claimed to allow access to web contents such as SNS and internet radio from the car. There is a screen on the left side of the driver seat that replaces cell phone screen of the driver.
"The screen is positioned by taking into account safety driving element, and is installed in higher position so that it would not disturb the driver when driving," said President Director of Mazda Motor Indonesia Keizo Okue to journalists yesterday.
MZD Connect is connected to the phone through Bluetooth that enables drivers to read their social media notifications or messages. "But, replying to messages or typing still must be done through the phone. However, we don’t recommend typing while driving since it is dangerous," Keizo added.
