TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said yesterday that the Presidential Decree about Sumatra toll road had been signed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and has asked PT Hutama Karya to execute the project immediately.
Previously, Dahlan confirmed that Trans Sumatra Toll project would proceed even though PT Hutama Karya, the company appointed to build the 2,700-km road, did not get state capital injections (PMN) from the state budget.
Initially, PT Hutama Karya would certainly not receive any PMN in the 2015 budget draft since the Presidential Decree for the company to work on the project had not been issued. PT Hutama Karya was also previously proposed to obtain PMN of Rp2 trillion in the 2014 revised budget, but it was rejected because there has yet to be any decree.
Trans Sumatra Toll is divided into four main corridors and three prioritized corridors. The four corridors travel through Lampung-Palembang with the length of 358 km, Palembang-Pekanbaru 610 km, Pekanbaru-Medan 548 km and Medan-Banda Aceh 460 km. Investment on the four main corridors is estimated at around Rp298 trillion.
Dahlan said Hutama Karya was ready to start building the road. "I want the construction to start in three weeks."
