Mayor Risma: Online Prostitution Nothing to Do with Dolly

TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - Surabaya Mayor Tri 'Risma' Rismaharini has denied that online prostitution in Surabaya occured as an impact of Dolly and Jarak shut down. "No. Remember Keyko, [it was] long before Dolly was shut down," Risma told Tempo.

The prostitution has breached the online world, long before Red Light Districts in Surabaya were closed down. The controversial mayor gave an example of Keyko’s online syndicate in 2012.

Previously, Surabaya Police unraveled online prostitution, run by a host in Surabaya. First Inspector Sigit Susanto from Surabaya Police confirmed Risma’s argument, saying there was no indication that former Dolly prostitutes were involved in it. Regardless, the case is still in preliminary investigation, said Sigit.
