Six Inmates of Pondok Gede Police Precinct Still At Large

TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - Six inmates of Pondok Gede Police Precinct Bekasi have escaped last Friday. Neither of the escaped inmates have been caught until now.
"We're still conducting a search," spokesman of the City Resort Police Bekasi Adj. Comr. Siswo told Tempo yesterday.
Four officers on duty at the time of the escape have been examined by Internal Affairs of City Resort Police Bekasi. According to Siswo, the officers were proven to be negligent in doing their duty. "They have been examined and are waiting to be trialed," Siswo said.
The six inmates of Pondok Gede Police Precinct are Andi (Ketel), Aliandra (Indra), Pandiaman Situmorang, Fitri (Petruk), Adi Saputra (Acil) and Arif Setiawan.
They escaped through the bathroom window by cutting through the bars. The inmates used a large bucket as their foothold and exiting to the warehouse. The roof of the warehouse have been damaged for their escape route.
The police have unveiled the mode of their escape. After further investigations, a mother of one of the inmates named Andi (Ketel) smuggled a hacksaw to the inmate on August 20. The saw was used to cut through the bathroom bars.
The police named Sudarwati a suspect. She was charged with Article 223 of the Criminal Law on the effort of aiding a prisoner. Currently the suspect has been taken out of town by officers to capture her son Ketel.
