TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has finally detained a suspect in the case of the crooked procurement of rusty Transjakarta buses, Udar Pristono.
AGO's head of information center Tonny Spontana said the former chief of the Jakarta Transportation Agency was now detained at Salemba prison in Central Jakarta.
"The arrest was done for investigative purposes," he said, adding that Udar was brought to the prison at around 07.00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The AGO also apprehended another suspect, Prawoto, an ex-director of the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), which became the consultant for the bus procurement.
On May 9, 2014, the AGO named both as suspects in the graft-stricken procurement of Transjakarta buses worth Rp1.5 trillion at the Jakarta Transportation Agency in 2013.
