TEMPO.CO, Paris - The French Parliament has agreed to approve an Anti-terrorism Draft Bill that aims to prevent militants from Iraq, Syria, and other nations from entering the nation.
France imposes a travel ban by confiscating passport of people suspected as militants. The travel ban, which also includes confiscating ID card, will be effective for six months. Worse comes to worse, France plans to extend the travel ban to two years.
France citizens violating the travel ban will be sentenced to three years in prison. The French parliament believed that it will be an effective measure to prevent militants going in and out the nation.
French Domestic Minister Bernard Cazeneuve previously reported that there are 930 French citizens that have travelled to and from Iran and Syria. Moreover, Cazeneuve estimated that 70 French citizens have joined the militia.
