TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cristiano Ronaldo may return to Manchester United next season as he becomes increasingly unhappy in Real Madrid, according to former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon.
He said that Ronaldo is disappointed because of the exodus of star players from Madrid over the last few years, including Arjen Robben, Mesut oezil, Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria.
Calderon said the Portuguese player might rejoing United because he was so happy at Old Trafford.
"When I signed him in 2009, I remember he said he was grateful to Manchester United,” Calderon told TalkSPORT. "He had a marvellous time there, he likes everything. It is a really great club."
Madrid made a bad start in La Liga this season, losing two of their first three games, and Calderon said Ronaldo is unsettled.
"My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president [Florentino Perez]," he said.
"When he came with Robben, he thought he would be a good colleague for him in the team.
"[Gonzalo] Higuain was sold and he didn't like that. Last year he thought it was a mistake to let [Mesut] Ozil leave and the last straw was selling Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria this summer."
