TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- Special Detachment (Densus) 88 anti-terror squad have arrested four foreign residents in Poso, Central Sulawesi, Sunday, September 13. The Police headquarters has confirmed the arrest.
"[The arrest is] right," said Boy Rafli Amar, Police spokesman, through a short text message to Tempo, Saturday. Tempo's source at the police office said the foreign residents' nationality is Turkish. Boy has not confirmed this information. Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Ronny F. Sompie said the counter-terrorism unit (CTU) have found Turkish passports at the scene of the arrest.
The foreigners were flown to Jakarta from Poso yesterday and captured at Soekarno-Hatta Airport's terminal 2, Cengkareng, Tangerang.
Poso is prone for conflicts, where residents and security officers were often terrorized. There was a shooting between the Central Sulawesi Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers and a group suspected to be terrorists in Poso, North Pesisir.
