Research on Pre-historic Findings in Harimau Cave Resumed

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of national archaeologists resumed the research on pre-historical man that was found in Harimau Cave, Padang Bidu Village, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) South Sumatra. This time the research is supported by archaeologists from Japan, Vietnam and Australia.
The foreign archaeologists are Nguyen Lan Cuong froom Vietnam, Marc Oxenham and Anna Willis from Australia and Hirofumi Matsumura from Japan. According to OKU regency Youth, Sport, Culture and Tourism Agency, Aufa Sarkomi, there will be no excavation on this continued research.
“They have studied some of our collections in the museum,” said Aufa.
Meanwhile Riswan Dinata, the Executive Unit Head of Sipahit Lidah Museum said that the research will be carried out until September 18. Riswan also said that his side has handed over 16 human skulls to the team lead by Truman Simanjuntak from the national Archaeology.
