TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is to join world stars exodus in India. Goal reported that the Frenchman was set to open talks with FC Pune City of Indian Super League after cancelling his contract with another Indian club, Mumbai FC.
Anelka, now 35, has played for a number of different clubs, such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City. The former French international is tagged as one of the world’s best opportunist strikers for his ability to move without the ball.
In India, Anelka will join some of the world's top veteran footballers, such as Alessandro Del Piero, Robert Pires, and Freddie Ljungberg. The Indian Super League will kick off in October, presenting a whole new most-anticipated league.
