TEMPO.CO, Depok – The Depok administration is constructing two eight-story parking building beside its City Hall’s mosque. The construction kicked off early this year and is carried out by state-run construction company PT Waskita Karya on a Rp39.8 billion budget.
“The target is to complete the construction late this year,” said the city’s Spatial Planning and Housing Agency chief, Kania Parwanti on Thursday, September 11, 2014.
Kania said the parking buildings, each boasting a capacity of 700 vehicles, were built for the city’s civil servants and residents arranging for their administrative matters at the City Hall.
According to Tempo’s observation, the construction of one of the buildings had reached the fourth floor, while the other one was having its second floor completed.
Depok Transportation Agency head Gandara Budiana said people dealing with their business on Jl. Margonda could also use the parking buildings so as to ease congestion on the street resulting from vehicles parking on the sideway.
