TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Researcher from the Indonesia Budget Center Roy Salam said Merah Putih Coalition tend to shift their priority to taking the Supreme Financial Board (BPK) leadership. He added that it is as seen by the majority of candidates, coming from Merah Putih Coalition parties. "Political Party candidate is likely to be elected," Roy told Tempo.
Merah Putih Coalition plans to take over state's institutions, after losing the presidential election on July 9, said Roy. BPK is one of state’s institutions with high bid position towards the government.
Previously, BPK selection cast 12 out of 67 political candidates. Six of which are still in the parliament, namely Harry Azhar Aziz from the Functional Group Party (Golkar) and Sadar Subagyo from the Great National Movement (Gerindra).
Harry Azhar Azis has personally denied Roy's allegation, saying that the participation was purely his initiative. Sadar added that his party supported him, after he had declared his intention to run for the selection, not the other way around.
