TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Transportation Ministry’s rail traffic and transport director Hanggo Budi Wiryawan said that the second phase of the construction of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Integrated Terminal would be carried out by state-run railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). “Land acquisition will be finished in late September and it will be built immediately afterwards,” said Hanggoro Monday.

He said PT KAI would build the terminal's railways and an airport train station dubbed Batu Ceper Station, which would be connected directly to the airport. “The length is about 12 kilometers,” he said.

Budi explained PT KAI woul used its own fund to finance the construction without additional cash from the Tangerang city administration. “The total funds for the project are Rp7 billion,” he said.

The Tanah Tinggi integrated terminal will encompass Batu Ceper Station, an intercity and interprovincial bus terminal, inner city buses, a public transportation terminal, a shopping center, restaurants, business centers, green open space, and park and ride. “We hope it can be operated by the end of 2015,” said Hanggoro.
