Govt Has Rp90 T Reserves to Add Fuel Quota

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Achsanul Qosasi, a member of the House of Representatives from the Democrat Party Faction, said the government still has Rp90 trillion (US$7.5 billion) for additional subsidized fuel quota allocated in the revised State Budget.
“If the Finance Minister said so [that the government has the budget], it is usually allocated from the fiscal-risk reserves,” Qosasi told Tempo on Saturday, September 06, 2014.
Qosasi said the fiscal-risk reserves could be up to Rp70 trillion (US$5.9 billion). In addition to the fiscal-risk reserves, the government has a budget from the 2013 state budget balance that could be up to Rp20 trillion (US$1.6 billion).
Qosasi said there is no special requirement needed for the government to use the budget. However, increasing subsidized fuel quota that has been set at 46 million kiloliters in the revised State Budget for 2014 must be regulated by a government regulation that amends the State Budget.
“Since the State Budget itself is a law, the quota must be changed,” Qosasi said.
