TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said the restructuring of civil servants in the Jakarta provincial government will register one record with the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) for the biggest mass inauguration of district and sub-district heads.
This time, the number of Echelon II, III, and IV officials who will be restructured reaches 2,000 officials,
"The inauguration breaks the record because no regional government has ever restructured up to 2,000 officials," Ahok said at Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, earlier today.
At the last inauguration done at the end of June 2013, the Jakarta provincial government inaugurated at least 311 district and sub-district heads as well as 104 Echelon III and IV officials.
The restructuring will be in the form of promotion, mutation with the position of the same level, and demotion from structural level to functional level. The goal, he added, is to post those officials based on their own skills and achievement.
However, Ahok refused to mention names of officials to be demoted from their positions and said that the selection of those officials have gone through the discussion and evaluation of their respective superiors.
To date, Ahok said the restructuring process is still waiting for the Governor Regulation as the derivative of the Regional Regulation on Regional Apparatus Organization.
The deputy governor hopes that Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo could inaugurate officials by the end of this month. Nevertheless, the inauguration is likely to be done in early October as the deliberation of the governor regulation has only been 50% finished.
"We are hoping to conduct the inauguration in September. However, if it is delayed, it means I will have to lead the inauguration," said Ahok.
