TEMPO.CO, Abidjan – Ivory Coast is to take on Sierra Leone in the qualification of the 2015 African Cup this Saturday amid the Ebola outbreak. Previously, the Ivory Coast administration banned any soccer event lest the virus would infect the nation.
The measure is taken in regards to the rampant Ebola outbreak in Africa besides Sierra Leone being one of the six African nations infected with the plague. However, the African Football Federation threatens to disqualify Ivory Coast should it refuse to play against Sierra Leone.
Thus, Ivory Coast will have to play against Sierra Leone this Saturday so as to qualify for the African Cup. Sierra Leone has ensured that no players were infected with the highly lethal Ebola virus.
