TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muara Baru low-cost apartment in Penjaringan, North Jakarta for Pluit Reservoir residents will be completed in late September. However, the apartment will not be able to be occupied immediately.
“There will still be handover and inspection,” said Marhayadi, chief of housing and apartment management region I, on Tuesday. He could not confirm yet when the apartment will be available as the decision must wait for instruction from the Jakarta governor.
Previously, the North Jakarta government was planning to demolish 200 houses near Pluit Reservoir in the third week of September because there was information that Muara Baru apartment was ready to be occupied.
Marhayadi said there are a few steps that must be taken before Pluit Reservoir residents could live in the apartment. “They cannot just go in. There must be data on who will live there,” he said.
Two new blocks of Muara Baru apartment will be finished this September, with each block consists of more than 200 units of houses. Six other blocks are still under construction. However, several residents have refused to be relocated to the apartment because they will have to pay rent. “There will be talks regarding the rental fee,” said Marhayadi.
