TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Napoli won 2-1 at Genoa thanks to a stoppage-time goal by debutant Jonathan de Guzman.
Napoli led earlier from Genoa through Jose Callejon, but the host equalised the score before half-time through Chile stiker Maurico Pinilla’s head-butt who recently was transferred from Cagliari.
Napoli, who failed to succeed to the Champions League after a 1-3 defeat from Athletico Bibao due to a weak defence, aimed the three points when Dutchman De Guzman sneaked in behind the Genoa defence at a free kick to score from close range.
"Italian football needs to calm down and not consider every match a life or death situation," coach Rafael Benitez told reporters.
