TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Ronaldinho will soon follow the footsteps of Allesandro Del Piero and Davids Trezeguet to play in Indian Super League (ISL).
He has entered negotiations with Team Chennai, who plays in the ISL. The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Atletico Mineiro in July.
Palmeiras approached the former World Cup veteran, but negotiations fell through.
According to Prashant Agarwal, one of the co-owners of the Chennai franchise, the negotiations have lasted since last week.
"Yes, we have been in touch with Ronaldinho and his representatives for the last one week or so. However, I would like to clarify that the numbers such as USD3 million or 36 crores INR (€2.3m) for two years doing the rounds in the market are absolutely false," Agarwal told Goal.
There has been no report on the negotiations. However, with Inter Milan likely to be a part of Team Chennai, the negotiations can become easier.
