TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of the economic team of the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla Transition Team Hendrawan Supratikno said in a bid to increase state revenues, an electronic system will be implemented to manage taxes.
According to Hendrawan, what needs to be done is the application of the online tax.
"If the system goes ahead, the state revenues will increase accordingly," he told Tempo on Friday, August 29, 2014.
Today, he said, there’s still leaking in revenues from tax, for example tax revenues from hotels. He also said that the online tax system will be done through de-centralization.
Although the system is time-consuming, Hendrawan was optimistic that the system would be implemented.
In addition, to cut down on state spending, he said that the most efficiency way will be chosen. For example, the conversion had done by state owned electricity company PT PLN by using fuel from gas or coal.
"That will save Rp70 trillion," Hendrawan said.
On a separate occasion, economist from the University of Indonesia Lana Soelistianingsih suggested Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla government to apply the e-procurement system, which is believed to be able to minimize state spending from leaking.
