TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - A number of Bekasi residents whose land will be cleared for the construction of double-double train (DDT) tracks connecting Manggarai-Bekasi-Cikarang, have refused the offered price by the Bekasi East Jakarta Land Procurement Committee (P2T).
"They've only increased Rp150,000, from Rp1.25 million to Rp1.4 million," said Ahmad Dumyati, 50, a resident of Mede Village, East Bekasi to Tempo, Friday.
During a negotiation with the P2T on Thursday, Ahmad had been appointed by the residents to convey their demand price of Rp8 million per meter. When in fact, he first offered Rp5 million at a negotiation on August 14. "I'm doing what the residents wish for," said Ahmad.
In order to anticipate the government's next step, Ahmad's team is ready to counter the action through legal measures. The residents are currenlty communicating with prosecutors. "We have the rights and will persevere until we reach the right offered price," said Ahmad.
