TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The biggest coal producing region in Indonesia, Kutai Kartanegara, is promoting its tourism sector through a film entitled “Erau Kota Raja”. The film is claimed to present the region’s ancient culture to the nation-wide audiences.
“While other regions use the APBD (regional budgeting) to make the film and there is a profit sharing, this film is thoroughly promoting our culture,” said the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara Rita Widyasari during the launching in Central Jakarta, on Friday, August 28.
“Erau Kota Raja” tells the tale of a journalist named Kirana (played by Nadine Chandrawinata) who is tasked to cover the reportage for Erau cultural festival in Kutai Kartanegara. Kirana then meet and fall in love with Reza, a local resident who assists her in her task. This love story that is wrapped with cultural messages is expected to attract audiences.
The film directed by Bambang Drias is scheduled to hit the Indonesian cinema on November.
