TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said the issue with clean water shortage at Muara Baru, North Jakarta, will not be resolved if the legal proceeding against his administration is sluggish. The trial would hamper the Jakarta administration to acquire PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja).
"If the water [supplies] are still controlled by Palyja, how can [the water shortage issue] be done?" Ahok said at the City Hall yesterday.
The lawsuit filed by a non-governmental organization with the Central Jakarta District Court would hamper Palyja’s stock acquisition process by the Jakarta Administration through a regional-owned enterprise, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
According to Ahok, the acquisition had to be postponed until the legal proceedings finalized.
