TEMPO.CO, Kiev - Ukraininan president Petro Poroshenko has accused Russia of invading eastern Ukraine, sending heavy artillery, guns, and troops, to help the separatists. Poroshenko then asked the National Security Council to send the army to handle the threat.
Poroshenko said NATO had confirmed that there are over 1,000 Russian troops joining the separatists to fight Ukraine. In a last satellite dated August 21, a Russian military convoy was spotted in Krasnodon. Two days after, a combat-ready artillery is set in the area.
Brigadier General Nico Tak from the council believes the Russian troops have supported the separatists and fought alongside in the battlefield, adding that around 20,000 Russian military personnel were being deployed near the border.
