TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has called former KPK's Director of Investigation Brigadier General Police Yurod Saleh.

The KPK's Chief of Reporting and Information Priharsa Nugraha said Yurod is called in relations to the corruption case of Hambalang project.

"He was examined as a witness for the suspect of MS [Machfud Suroso]," Priharsa told reporters earlier today. Machfud is the Managing Director of PT Dutasari Citralaras who is mentioned to be a close friend of the former Chairman of the Democrat Party Anas Urbaningrum.

Yurod has arrived at the KPK building around 9:55 a.m. Wearing black safari, he refused to give any comment. Other than Yurod, KPK has also examined Nazar’s legal council, Djufri Taurik.

Yurod, who was inaugurated to be the KPK's Director of Investigation on May 4, 2011, was returned by KPK to the Police Headquarter on February 24, 2012. Yurod was removed from his position as the KPK's Director of Investigation due to his close relationship with former Treasury of the Democrat Party Muhammad Nazaruddin.

Machfud Suroso was named a suspect on November 6, 2013. He was suspected of committing mark-ups in regards to the Hambalang project. The mark-up budget involving subcontract Adhi Karya and Wijaya Karya, as the winning bidder, with a total project value worth Rp2.5 trillion.
