TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto has said that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo are slated to meet again after the meeting scheduled to take place in Bali tonight. "There will be a more comprehensive follow-up meeting," said Djoko through a text message earlier today.
As previously reported, President SBY is scheduled to meet with Jokowi at 8 Bali time tonight at Lagoon Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali. The plan was given the 'go-ahead' after Jokowi met with Djoko Suyanto last week. In the meeting, Jokowi is said to have told Djoko that he prefered to meet President SBY before Friday, August 29. President SBY is in Bali to attend the United Nations Alliance of Civilization World Forum.
According to Djoko, Jokowi plans on briefing SBY of his plans for the next administration. Transition plans will be discussed in the next scheduled meeting.
However, Djoko said nobody knows for sure about the details of the discussion that will take place between President SBY and Jokowi tonight. Rumour has it that Jokowi and SBY will meet to discuss the matter of increasing the price of subsidized fuel - which they plan on announcing together. "What's clear is that only they know the topics that will be discussed tonight," said Djoko.
Tempo has not received a confirmation from officials on the matter.
