TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transition team deputy Akbar Faisal said the team had prepared programs for infrastructure sector in Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's government. "We have prepared programs for the next three months to one year," said Akbar yesterday.
One of the targets of the infrastructure reform includes infrastructure development in several places. "There are many points such as electricity projects in Batang, Central Java, and airport-integrated railway from Dukuh Atas to Cengkareng," he said.
The meeting with Vice president elect Jusuf Kalla on Jl. Brawijaya yesterday contained reports to Kalla regarding what the Transition team has prepared for the next government, including cabinet formulation and unfinished projects during Kalla’s term as vice president in 2004-2009.
"Just imagine, 10,000-megawatt electricity in Batang. That’s a big project which is worth 20 trillion, but it was hampered because of transfer of land issue," Akbar said.
The electricity project in Batang has big potential which is why the project has to be executed immediately. "If it's maximized, Batang will be able to supply around six percent of electricity needs in Jakarta, Madura and Bali," he said.
