TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of General Election Commission (KPU) Husni Kamil Malik said that the presidential election budget is Rp4 trillion, whereas for the second round is budgeted at Rp3.9 trillion.
“Because there is no second round, the budget is withdrawn to the Ministry of Finance and kept in the state treasury,” Husni said in a statement.
The budget withdrawn to the Ministry of Finance is Rp2.9 trillion whereas the rest of the Rp1 trillion is kept as a state treasury.
Husni also said that the budget in the General Election Commission's treasury is not too large. This matter, Husni said, given the budgetary policy considerations, will be disbursed after a budget submission from the electoral commission. The electoral commission spending system is once needed, then to be submitted. “If not submitted, then all budget goes to the state treasury,” he said.
In the hearing meeting in the Government Commission, the General Election Commission reported the realization of budget absorption of the 2013 Electoral Commission as much as 69.58 percent or Rp5,908,346,993,000 from a total allocation of Rp8,492,009,875,000.
The board also received an electoral commision’s report that received a budget ceiling of Rp1,109,402,000,0000 and a 2015 additional proposal of Rp726,199,721,000. “The commission will discuss it in further detail to the upcoming RDP,” Head of Commission Arif Wibowo said.
