TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Deputy Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin is attending the 9th symposium of the legendary Chinese military and war philosopher Sun Tzu organized by the Chinese Military Academy in Qingdao, on August 24 to 26.
"Sun Tzu's theory about the art of war has been known worldwide, and it is not only used in war but also other aspects of life such as economy, social, and culture," Chairman of the Chinese Military Academy Liu Chengjun stated on Monday.
Liu explained that the symposium aims to share experiences with global leaders and government officials about Sun Tzus art of war philosophy and how it can be implemented in various sectors. The symposium was attended by military experts and government officials from 24 countries, including Indonesia and Australia.
"Development needs stability. Sun Tzus philosophy is not only relevant for the military sector but also other aspects of life, including peacekeeping efforts," Liu added.
Sun Tzu is a legendary Chinese philosopher and military strategist who lived in the 6th century. Most of his war strategies are part of a book titled "Art of War".
