Jokowi Can Bridge Megawati-SBY

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy of Jokowi-Kalla's Transitional Team Hasto Kristiyanto said Jokowi could bridge the troubled relationship between Megawati Soekarnoputri (Mega) and Susilo Bambang Yudhyono (SBY), especially during the power transitional period.

"Jokowi as a president has nothing to do with previous problems," said Hasto. "Jokowi can serve as a beacon of a new hope for a better Indonesia."

Hasto said the priority now is to meet up with Team SBY, in relation of transitional government. "[We] still have time before inauguration." There are no problems in communicating with Democrat Party, as well as to other parties.

Currently, parties under Jokowi-Kalla are tasked to approach other parties to blend in cooperation in the new government. Such approach is necessary to create a solid government, said Hasto.
