TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. South Korea signed an early deal with Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. China to create a joint venture in making an energy storage system in China.
The companies plan to build a production facility by next year.
Samsung SDI, an electronic component manufacturer, didn’t diclosed how big the joint investment will be and hasn’t decided where the new location of the company will be.
Samsung SDI and other electric vehicle battery manufacturer are focusing on the energy storage system to secure their product value due to electric vehicle battery market has lagged expectations, the Reuters reported.
