Ahok Calls on Banyuwangi Residents to Develop Jakarta Together

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor, Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama, attended an activity of halal bi-halal with people incorporated with the Association of People of Banyuwangi, whose origins are in Jabotabek (Ikawangi), in Anjungan Jawa Timur, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta, Sunday.
On that occasion, they were asked by Ahok to jointly develop and improve the Jakarta Provincial Government programs.
"Let us develop and advance Jakarta City together. I beg Banyuwangi people living in the capital realize it and give input for Jakarta development," said Ahok on Sunday.
The former Regent of East Belitung arrived around 10:30 AM, immediately welcomed by the Regent and Vice Regent of Banyuwangi, Azwar Anas and Yusuf Widiyatmoko accompanied with Kuntulan Dance. While wearing Gajag Oling and Udeng Batik as well as Banyuwangi's headband, he admitted was proud to developments in Banyuwangi Regency area.
"The more developed areas found, we are happy. Thus, Jakarta would no longer be the central. Hopefully Indonesia could create outstanding regents, like Mr. Azwar Anas who can build an area well," he hoped.
Banyuwangi Regent, Azwar Anas added that besides halal bihalal, the activity is also part of the consolidation of all potential residents to build Banyuwangi.
"Development should involve all elements. Banyuwangi residents may be able to contribute. Banyuwangi Diaspora can provide an idea and promote tourism," he uttered.
