TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of people who claimed the residents of RT 01, 02, and 03, RW 03 areas, Bintaro Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-District, South Jakarta, were staging rally to express their rejection on the Lexington Residence apartment construction. As a result, long traffic congestion formed on Jalan Deplu Raya, Bintaro, South Jakarta, on Monday.
The rally started at 8 AM, the protesters were seating on the half part of the road that connects Bintaro and Pondok Pinang areas. They were carrying banners and distributing pamphlets illustrating their rejections and demands on this project.
“There is no environmental impact analysis yet in this project because there had not been any discussion and dissemination with residents who live in RT 01-03, RW 03, Bintaro. Moreover, Jalan Deplu Tengah, which is the entrance to settlement in RT 03/03 is also ruled by the developer. In week days, the road is used as parking lot for project officers,” said the action coordinator, Eros Djarot.
Dozens of policemen and Satpol PP personnel are on guard in location and regulate the traffic. The mass plans to stage demonstration again at 6 PM. Thus, road users passing this location are urged to take alternative routes to prevent traffic congestion.
