TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Askolani, the director general for budget at the Finance Ministry, said the ministry will intervene in the diesel fuel—locally known as solar— price dispute between state-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and state-run oil and gas firm PT Pertamina. “That’s a business problem. We have to study it first,” he said on Monday.
Askolani said he needed to see the complete data of the government’s eletricity subsidy budget before determining if a budget should be covered by the state budget or by state enterprises.
Earlier, PT PLN planned to involve the directorate general for budget to put an end to its solar price dispute with PT Pertamina, which said this issue was related to the government’s budget to subsidize electricity.
PLN has agreed to the change of solar price by 109.5 percent from MOPS (Mean of Platts Singapore) proposed by Pertamina. However, the agreement is only valid from July until December 2014, while the contract disputed by Pertamina is effective from 2013 to 2015.
