TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flood once again inundates 3,810 graves at the Kapuk Teko Public Cemetery (TPU), RW 01, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, West Jakarta. Its water level reaches 2 meters. Besides water, water hyacinth begins to fill up the TPU that will be relocated to the Tegal Alur TPU.
Of the 3,810 tombs, only 200 heirs have signed up for their family graves relocation in accordance with West Jakarta Administration program, as reported by Antara News.
Priatna Suatna, (42), a citizen of RW 01, Kapuk Urban Village, whose grandfather was buried at the Kapuk Teko TPU said the flood is like 24 years ago, and he is pessimistic the West Jakarta Administration to immediately relocated the Tegal Alur TPU soon.
"I believe the relocation cannot be realized until the end of August 2014 if the flood keeps inundating the cemetery," he expressed, Saturday.
West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi denied if the West Jakarta Administration does not serious to relocated the cemetery. Even, his party has sought drying cemetery area. "As you know, we are serious. Evidently, we have strived drying in the cemetery," he asserted.
Regarding water hyacinth, he stressed this is because his party is still waiting for additional budget. "We're still waiting for additional budget. As for its realization, we will continue to coordinate it with the Funeral Sub-Department as soon as possible," he finished.
