TEMPO.CO, London - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger started the Community Shield match against Manchester City tonight with an intriguing joke about Frank Lampard’s loan deal with The Citizen. Wenger said there were easier ways to exchange west London for Manchester.
Earlier this month, the Arsenal boss raised concerns that the England international's deal is a way for City to navigate UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
"It was a surprise that he went to Manchester City," the 64-year-old said to Mail Online.
"He went to New York first and the shortest way to Manchester is not to travel to New York first. If you look at a map there is a shorter way," said the Frenchman as quoted by Mirror.
