TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Yogyakarta is not only famous for its art and culture tourism, but the city also offers various kinds of old-style dishes. Among such dishes, the Bakmi (yellow noodles) served in the Bakmi Kadin Stall became a food not to miss while you are visiting Yogyakarta.
Although the Bakmi Kadin Stall is located right behind the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Office (Kadin) on Jl. Kusumanegara, the name ‘Kadin’ has nothing to do with the office. ‘Kadin’ is the abbreviations of ‘Karto Kasidin’ the man who first opened the noodle stall in 1947.
Five bakmi carts were aligned to welcome guests. The typical of Javanese bakmi is that the cooking process is done with an old-styled pan. To ensure the right taste, the cook only makes one portion of bakmi at a time. Therefore, be sure to prepare heaps of patience while waiting for the ordered menu.
The Bakmi stall offers boiled noodle, fried noodle, and nyemek noodle (noodle with little broth). Guests are allowed to order half portion. The noodle is sold for Rp15,000 per portion.
Traditional beverages such as the spicy-tasted bajigur are available for drink.
