TEMPO.CO, Beijing - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has started the 2014/15 season quite well by winning the 2014 Trophee des Champions. The defending champion of Ligue 1 defeated last season Coupe de France, Guingamp 2-0 at Worker's Stadium, Beijing, yesterday.
PSG immediately took the lead after striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich released a shot to the upper left of Guingamp goal post at the ninth minute.
Les Parisiens doubled up the scored at the 20th minute through Ibrahimovich's penalty kick. Referee Clement Turpin awarded the penalty after Guingamp' Lars Jacoben faulted Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck at the penalty box.
Guingamp had their chance to minimize the gap when the referee awarded the club penalty after Claudio Beauvue was fouled at the 30th minute. Unfortunately, Mustapha Yatabare’s shot was successfully blocked by goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.
Chances were created by both teams during the second half but no more goals scored and Les Parisiens claimed their crown.
