TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Horror movie lovers would remember the success of two horror films Insidious (2011) and The Conjuring (2013). An Australian-made horror film entitled 'The Babadook', claimed to be as thrilling and creepy as those two horrors directed by James Wan, will soon hit Indonesian big screens.
'The Babadook' is directed by Jennifer Kent, an Australian-born film director who is known through TV serial 'Murder Call'. The film becomes Kent's big screen horror debut.
Kent's film garnered impressive appreciation from the world's movie critics in the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and was the official selection of the festival.
The owner of film distributor company Pratama Film, Anton Pratama, said the movie deserved the appreciation from many parties since the horror sense is very prominent. He even said the film could destabilize one's sanity.
The 94-minutes movie that is dominated by 'dark' scenes will be screened on BlitzMegaplex network starting August 6.
