TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chief Abraham Samad has been linked to a ministerial position in Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s cabinet and was on the list of the People’s Choice for an Alternative Cabinet. According to KPK spokesperson Johan Budi, If Abraham accepted the offer to join the new administration, the chief position at the anti-graft commission would be vacant.
“As far as I can see, Abraham would stay at the KPK until his term of office is finished,” Johan said on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Johan added the KPK currently has solid leaders, but it was up to Abraham Samad.
“It’s Abraham’s decision, whether he wants to be a minister and leaves KPK,” Johan said.
Abraham Samad, along with Central Kalimantan Governor Agustin Teras Narang and Gadjah Mada University Rector Mada Pratikno, is on the list of the People’s Choice for Alternative Cabinet.
