TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two police officers who were wounded after being attacked by armed group members in Lanny Jaya, Papua, on Monday, are still receiving intensive treatment at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Jayapura, as reported by Antara News.
"We have performed an operation to remove an object lodged in the officers body," Head of Medical and Health Affairs of the Papua Regional Police Command, Senior Commissioner Raymond stated when asked about the condition of the wounded officers on Wednesday.
Raymond remarked that he had referred the officer, who was hit in the stomach, to the Dok II regional hospital in Jayapura for an operation.
"He is no longer in a critical condition, and he is recovering," Raymond noted.
The condition of the five other police officers involved in the incident who are being treated at the Bhayangkara Hospital is already improving, Raymond added.
Second Brigardier Prayoga and Second Brigadier Zulkifli were killed while some others were wounded after they were attacked by armed group members in Lanny Jaya district on Monday.
