TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The three-in-one traffic restriction zone policy has been temporarily lifted for the Idul Fitri holidays beginning Monday, July 28, 2014. The authorities said the policy was momentarily put to a halt as streets in the capital were projected to be empty during the holidays.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said there was no clarity yet as to when the policy would be reinstated. “It depends on traffic conditions in Jakarta,” he told Tempo on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
The three-in-one traffic policy affects a number of main roads in the capital, including Jl. Sisingamangaraja, Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, Jl. M.H. Thamrin, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Jl. Majapahit, Jl. Gajah Mada, Jl. Pintu Besar Selatan, Jl. Pintu Besar Utara, Jl. Hayam Wuruk, and parts of Jl. Jenderal Gatot Subroto from the crossroad of Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said.
The policy, which requires a car to carry at least three passengers when passing through the affected streets, is effective daily from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.-7 p.m.
