TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Training and Achievement Department at the Indonesian Badminton Association (PB PBSI) Rexy Mainaky has said of targeting two gold medals in Asian Games Incheon, September 2014. Rexy is confident male doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and mixed doubles Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir are to secure the medal.
Moreover, he said, Tommy Sugiarto (men's singles) and Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari (women's doubles) are to secure at least bronze medal. Greysia/Nitya has just won Taipei Open Grand Prix 2014, defeating China's doubles Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang. "I expect that this experience can lead to another gold medal from the women's doubles," said Rexy.
Winning the Asian Games will be dire challenge, given that the athletes are going to perform at the BWF World Championships 2014 in August. "Now we need to prepare the athletes as best as we can, at the two-week break between BWF World Championships 2014 and Asian Games Incheon," said the former world's men's doubles champ.
