TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 12 horses born and bred in Indonesia are slated to exported to Malaysia on Saturday, July 26, 2014 through the Malaysia Airlines cargo.
These horses were bred in Kuda Pamulang horse breeding house owned Equestrian Centre foundation, Pamulang, South Tangerang, Banten.
"These are purely Indonesian horses. They are from Sumba, West Nusa Tenggara," said representative of the Equestrian Centre Foundation, Sigit Samsu, at Rumah Pacu Kuda, Pamulang, Friday, July 25, 2014.
According to Sigit, those horses were ordered by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It is reported that the horses will be used to transport goods and to be used for horse riding purposes.
Horse expert from Pamulang Breeding Farm, Budyatama Boenjamin said those Sumbawa horses are sold at Rp75 million per one horse.
"That includes plane shipping. The price of one horse alone is around Rp30 million - Rp35 million per one horse," Budyatama said.
In the meantime, Director General of the National Export Development of the Trade Ministry, Nus Nuzulia Ishakm said this export is a special export because the quality of those horses can compete with the quality of Australian horses.

According to the date from the Ministry of Trade, during the period of 2009-2011, the total value of horse export is worth US$32,000 and those horses are mainly exported to Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, East Timor and Japan.
