AirAsia Prepares 12,600 Seats for Lebaran

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AirAsia airline has prepared 12,600 additional seats for the homecoming season in 2014. AirAsia corporate secretary Audrey Prostagama Petriny recorded an increase in the number of passengers up to 15 percent. "As a result, we have additional seats this year. There weren't additional seats last year," she told Tempo on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
The company has also added flight frequencies in several favorite routes, including Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Jakarta-Surabaya and Jakarta-Singapore from July 23 to August 5. These three routes have their number of flights increased from four to five flights per day. For the Jakarta-Denpasar route, the number of flights have been added from two to eight flights per day.
According to Audrey, the average occupancy level of those four routes is recorded at 75 to 100 percent. Flight routes departing from Jakarta has an occupancy level of 100 percent. "But for flights to Jakarta, the occupancy level is still around 75 percent," she said.
