TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) projected July 2014's inflation to remain under control. BI deputy governor Mirza Adityaswara said that according to the central bank's observations as of the third week of this month, inflation in July stood at around 0.75 percent.
"Hopefully July's inflation will be under one percent, the monthly inflation (month-to-month) should be between 0.7 to 0.9 percent," Mirza said after his inauguration in the Supreme Court on Friday, July 25.
Earlier this week, Central Statistics Agency (BPS) chief Suryamin predicted a reasonable inflation hike in July if the prices of staple goods remain stable up until to Eid. "We hope (the increase) will not be too high, so it does not burden the inflation much," he said on Monday, July 21.
