TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Galatasaray President Unal Aysal has denied the rumor that says Wesley Sneijder is leaving the Turkish giants to Manchester United - or even AS Monaco. Aysal confirmed that there was no bid made for Sneijder, and that all is a mere rumor.
Sneijder, 30, has been a regular spot on United's transfer radar. Back when United was under Sir Alex Ferguson's spell, Sneijder had been reported to join the Red Devils. Now when former Ducth coach Louis van Gaal helms Ferguson's post, the rumor breezes even harder.
The rumor heats up as Galatasaray coach Cesare Prandelli said he was willing to let go the Dutchman to purchase new player. The playmaker, tagged at around 16 million pounds, can still leave Turkey. However, Aysal said to have commenced a talk with Sneijder's agent concerning contract negotiation, a proposal that will certainly ruin United's dream in signing the talented player.
