TEMPO.CO, Boston – Liverpool suffered a double deal of loss when losing a pre-season match against AS Roma and losing Fabio Borini in an injury. Facing Il Lupi in Boston, the Reds lost Borini 11 minutes after kick off.
Borini's injury came at a time when the player was wanted by Sunderland, as well as Juventus. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has expressed his interest in signing Borini, who plays as a loan in Sunderland last season. The Black Cats even has also prepared 14 million pounds for the Italian-born striker.
Not only that Liverpool lost the game, Steven Gerrard and friends lost to AS Roma in the final minutes of the friendly. It was Roma striker Marco Borriello that scored a goal in the 90th minute, staining Liverpool's run in the pre-season matches.
