TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- Joachim Loew has confirmed that he will remain as Germany's coach until after the 2016 European Championships. Loew will remain at the helm for at least another two years.
Previously, Loew was rumored to resign, following Philipp Lahm’s trail, who retired from the international match after guiding Germany to become world champion.
Loew claims he is ready to lead Bastian Schweinsteiger and friends for two years ahead. "At the moment I can think of nothing better than to continue working with this team and to lead them to the European Championship in France," he told the German Football Association's official website. "I am as motivated as the first day I was in the job.”
After appointed as Germany’s coach in 2006, Loew managed to bring Germany in continuing to dominate the European and world championships. After placing runner-up in the 2008 Euro, Germany took third place in the 2010 World Cup and became Euro’s 2012 semifinalist. Germany's victory at the World Cup was the country's fourth triumph overall in the tournament.
